Banks are not technology companies. They are consumer services companies which have failed that description in multiple ways in recent years. Could real consumer/business technology companies replace many of their services?

We already pointed out developments in China, as internet companies compete with banks on financial services, but if only competition were banks’ solitary problem. Technology and data is today’s battle ground and banks are struggling for focus.
