Wow! The US flash crash of the Dow Jones Index in May 2010 freaked out quite a few observers at the time.  However, that 1000 point plunge was recovered in minutes. In Japan today that did not happen.

US smaller companies index hits new record high!

Just as junk bonds hit new highs the riskier end of the US equities spectrum is also breaking records. The benchmark Russell 2000 index of US smaller companies hit the 1000 mark last night and is up 18% year-to-date.
